Nike Blocks Rob Gronkowski new logo

Does Rob Gronkowski's new logo look a little familiar? Nike thinks so because they're trying to block Rob from cashing in on his "new" design. According to ESPN, Nike is trying to block Gronkowski's trademark application by claiming that his new logo looks a lot similar to their iconic Jumpan symbol. The New England Patriot tight end logo depicts a blacked-out figure spiking a football with his legs apart. Which can be confused with Nikes Air Jordan Jumpman symbol that they acquired in 1987.

Gronk's attorney says "My client has created one of the most recognizable brands in sports today, We are very proud of this brand and are optimistic that we will resolve this with Nike amicably." Gronkowski's team has until Aug. 5 to respond to Nike's claim or risk abandoning the filing. If nothing is resolved, the two sides will battle over the mark.

A Nike spokesperson said, "We hope to work this out to everyone's satisfaction."

We will see in the upcoming months how everything plays out.
